For everything a home asks of you

It’s more than getting the dishes done.

It’s noticing the empty fridge. Remembering the appointment. Deciding what needs doing, and finding the moment to talk about it. When that work lives in one person’s head, even small things can start to feel heavy.

You deserve a way to make home life feel more shared.

A little house on your side

Something lovely to care for. A clearer way to care together.

Happy House brings everyday tasks, thinking work, and a short weekly check-in into one shared place. Your house pet adds a little delight to useful moments of care. Everyone contributes to the same home.

Less to keep in your head

Put everyday needs in a shared Care Pool, so there’s a place to look when someone has a moment to help.

More of the work seen

Make room for the planning, organizing, and remembering that help a household run.

A gentler place to start

Choose one useful thing, celebrate a little progress, and talk together about what would make the week easier.

Start small. Care together.

A happy house begins with three little steps.

  1. 01

    Make it your little home

Choose a house pet, give it a name, and make it feel like yours.

  2. 02

    Invite your people

Bring the adults in your household into the same shared home, from their own phones.

  3. 03

    Give a little care

Pick a task that fits your day, recognize thinking work, and make space for a weekly conversation.

No individual leaderboards. No perfect-house expectations. Always a warm welcome back.

Built with real household life in mind

There’s a reason the invisible work feels heavy.

Research on household labor helped shape what Happy House pays attention to: the mental load, how people communicate, and whether care feels recognized.

02

Sharing and communication connect

Research involving 487 couples examined how the division of housework, communication, and relationship satisfaction are related. It supports making space for conversation as well as completion.

Feeling appreciated matters

Across three pandemic-era samples, feeling appreciated was linked to a softer relationship between unequal household labor and lower relationship satisfaction. Recognition matters alongside sharing the work.

These are studies of household life, not trials of Happy House. Their samples and methods have limits. Happy House is a prototype exploring these ideas; its effects on mental load and resentment have not yet been established.

The home you’re working toward

A little less managing. A little more being together.

Imagine a useful next step that everyone can see, planning work that gets recognized, and a shared moment to ask, “What would make this week easier for us?” That’s the kind of home life we’re building toward.

A few things you might be wondering

Is this another chore scoreboard?

Everyone cares for the same house pet. Happy House has no individual leaderboard or cumulative personal points. The focus is your shared home and useful contributions.

Will this stop resentment?

An app can offer a clearer place to coordinate, but it can’t promise to resolve relationship problems. Happy House is designed to make everyday work more visible and support conversations before small frustrations accumulate.

Who can join right now?

This prototype supports adult household members. Busy parents can coordinate family life together; child accounts are not part of this version.

Do we need ChatGPT accounts?

No. You can use the sign-in options shown on the account screen, including Google, Microsoft, or email. Each adult uses their own account to join the shared household.
